The legal requirements for hydrogen projects are developing dynamically. For example, electrolyzers in Germany are currently exempt from grid charges and electricity for electrolysis is fully exempt from electricity tax under §9a StromStG – advantages that increase your profitability.

At the same time, the EU requires exact proof of electricity origin for "green" hydrogen: from 2027, an hourly correlation between green electricity generation and electrolysis operation will gradually apply. New grid rules such as Redispatch 2.0 also include flexibly controllable plants from 100 kW.
