Wind and PV parks need a reliable and precise metering system. Acteno energy specialises in metering operations for large generation plants – from single turbines to 100 MW wind parks. We ensure every kilowatt-hour generated and consumed is captured exactly, that all legal duties are met, and that you always have an overview of your installations. Post-EEG installations especially benefit from our HybridNet metering concepts: we make your park ready for direct marketing, PPAs and self-consumption models – grid-operator-independent, nationwide and digitally connected.
As a plant operator or direct marketer, real-time generation data is essential to compete. With acteno energy metering & energy performance management you continuously monitor all feeders and use real-time data for fault management and direct marketing. This reduces yield losses and ensures economic, long-lived operation. Every feed-in plant must be equipped with a metering system capturing feed-in and self-consumption.
Until now, this was handled by the grid operator. Now operators can use acteno energy's independent metering point operation for full transparency on how their plants feed in. We offer our services independently and nationwide under §3 MsbG, capturing both billing-relevant and additional non-billing data.
Our services – Turnkey metering concept
Acteno takes over complete planning, coordination with the grid operator, installation and commissioning of your metering system.
- Together with you as the operator we define which meters are installed at which points – e.g. generation measurements per wind turbine, summing handover meter at the grid connection point, possibly intermediate meters for self-consumption. We draw up detailed metering concept sketches and coordinate them with the distribution grid operator so that everything complies with the rules (e.g. VDE-AR-N 4110 for medium voltage / VDE-AR-N 4120 for high voltage).
- All voltage and installation levels: whether direct measurement in low voltage or transformer measurement in medium and high voltage – we deliver and mount the right metering technology. We also include substations and handover stations so that, for example, switchgear measurements or transformer stations can be monitored. You receive a complete picture of all energy flows in your park.
Our services – Post-EEG & PPA ready
- Specifically for installations outside EEG remuneration we offer extra services: we measure separately for different marketing forms, e.g. part of the energy via a direct marketer, part via PPA to an industrial customer. Our metering concepts enable this split (balancing across several market roles) without technical clutter. We also support revenue allocation and documentation for the 2023/24 EEG revenue skimming where relevant.
- Third-party consumers and self-consumption: are you supplying on-site consumers with power (e.g. operations buildings, leased areas with self-supplied electricity)? Acteno sets up sub-meters to legally delineate self-consumption from third-party consumption. This fulfils evidence obligations for the reduced EEG levy (until 2022) and current electricity tax exemptions for self-supplied electricity. We also handle automatic reporting of third-party consumption to authorities where required.
Our services – Redispatch 2.0 & feed-in management
As your metering point operator we ensure your wind/solar park is Redispatch-compliant. Our systems deliver the required feed-in data in real time to grid operators or your direct-marketing portal, making feed-in management interventions transparent and traceable. If needed we also provide remote control technology via partners (or integrate existing control boxes) to implement curtailment under §14 EEG or §13 EnWG.
- Monitoring and data analysis: with the Acteno monitoring platform (part of HybridNet) you keep an eye on all plant performance data. We deliver 15-minute load profile data for production and consumption, show voltage, current and power factor (important e.g. for reactive power control). Via our web interface or API you can call up this data at any time – ideal for your technical operations management. Our system also detects irregularities (e.g. meter failure, unusual load profiles) and alerts you so you can react quickly. This quality assurance increases data validity for your billing and forecasts.
